NAPERVILLE, IL and GLENVIEW, IL — May 2018 — Packyge, Inc., a technology company that is building an open ship-to-store network, will reach nearly 1,000 locations within the next six months through a strategic investment from Highland Ventures Ltd., the parent company of Family Video, Hoogland Foods (dba Marco’s Pizza), Stay Fit 24, and Legacy Commercial Property.
With over 23 million packages stolen in the U.S., Packyge eliminates the risk of package theft by giving consumers the opportunity to ship their online orders from participating websites to a nearby Packyge pick up & drop off (PUDO) point. Packyge also relieves the need for consumers to be home to sign for packages, missed deliveries, and diversions from carriers. For online retailers, the Packyge network can save thousands on shipping costs by converting residential deliveries to commercial deliveries.
Regarding the company’s 1,000th store milestone and strategic investment from Highland Ventures, Co-founder and CEO Abhi Dhar said, “We have had a busy first year of existence, going from nothing last summer to 25 stores in January and then almost 1,000 today. Our momentum is undeniable and we’re excited to partner with Highland Ventures, who shares our vision for the future of last mile solutions. We look forward to transforming consumer experiences in the last mile using our patent-pending cloud technology platform”
“We have great admiration for the innovation Packyge brings to the marketplace and we are thrilled to begin our partnership,” said Keith Hoogland, President of Highland Ventures, Ltd. “As we continue to broaden our family of brands, we believe this is a tremendous opportunity to address the ever-changing needs of consumers in the communities we serve.”
